Jordanians Loves #Shusmo! Keep an Eye

4
January 14, 2010

What is a Shusmo? Why should we use Shusmo? When? How?

Definition (What is a Shusmo): Shusmo is a great invention by Khalid (@Shusmo) we use it to replace some sensitive words or words that you cannot mention or discuss publicly with your friends. the word Shusmo is a great word to keep your self outside the prison and at the safe side!

Why we use Shusmo? We must use Shusmo in almost everything, SMS, twitter, facebook, blogs and comments. This usage came up because there are people watching us everywhere and on every web 2.0. Your words are being counted from now and until you join a party in the prison!!! This word is for security purposes, keeps you safe and clean like a white دشداشة.

Read more on why we must use Shusmo:

When you should use Shusmo? You should replace any word related to political issues, religion, sex or economical issues with Shusmo. Only the person on the other side will understand what you are willing to say but the eyes will not understand anything (unless they use some #Shusmo -the first usage- techniques).

How do you can use Shusmo? Using Shusmo is really simple but on another hand, you should be smart and you must focus on covering what may clarify the real word. here is a scenario on how to use this word.

The new law is really unfair because it limits our freedom of speech. They should change this law and give the process more flexibility. I’ll be watching the newspapers to know if the government is going to change it or not. Lets wish that.

The encrypted scenario with Shusmo becomes:

The new Shusmo is really unfair, it limits our Shusmo of Shusmo. They should change this Shusmo and give the process more flexibility. I’ll be watching the newspapers to know if the Shusmo is going to change it or not. Lets wish that.

Personally, I am really wondering what they are going to watch?!! we tweet about our daily life and favorite stuff so what a tweet about life or work will do? Their goal is to reach what they call “حرية سقفها السماء” so how they would reach this? They are going to limit everything called “Opinion”, bloggers will not be able to write about sensitive and important topics and will only keep writing about their life and missing opportunities.

Giving freedom to people who are really afraid of saying a word about what is going on in Jordan does not mean to watch them! I don’t call this Freedom, i call it “Limitation” and it’s really bad.

Having a different view of things does not change the fact of “I am Jordanian and I love my country”.. they are going to force you to say what they are willing to hear not the truth or the fact itself. It prevents us of having the minimum level of freedom to express and say what Jordan should be.

This post represent the funny side of this issue but it covers the ugly one as well. I didn’t mean to make fun out of this but I don’t really know what to say or to comment on. As a Jordanian blogger (little and small one) I think that i am really going to DELETE Jordan and Politics categories from my blog. I am saying that seriously no joke on that!

Gays in Amman and Their Freedom!

42
January 3, 2010

It’s really very complicated issue to be discussed in a blog post, but I think that I should write about this issue to clarify some points and to show you the current state of this issue.

I have been hanging out with X and X2 in 31 December, we were trying to find a place to relax, chill and “celebrate the night” after a long day. We passed by Books@Cafe!!! The first charge was 10JD to enter, but the price wasn’t the problem! If you saw the entrance of this cafe you will never know that it’s a public cafe, closed doors, security inside and outside the place, and weird people at the entrance trying to enter. Apparently the night was so “hot” but in way you will not feel okay.

This place in Amman is really known as a not-for-normal people (In general) i know there are lots of normal people who like this place but i don’t know how they enter and enjoy their time while they already know that this place has a very bad reputation!

We took a taxi to move to Wakalat Street, the driver was really so weird. He joined our conversation because we were talking and laughing at the issue. I remember this from the conversation:

Driver: So what? They still people and you cannot judge them.. freedom. The freedom has won! so why don’t you enter Books@Cafe?

Me: Our prophet Mohammad -Peace be upon him- said:”اجتنبوا الشبهات”.

X1: Did you know that the throne of god will be shaken?

Driver: So what? Let the throne shake, why it will shake now? he continued: Do you really think that Books@Cafe is the only place where you can find gays? No!!! Culture Street (a.k.a Thakafa street) as well.

X1 didn’t get what the driver said! Huh! What do you mean..

Driver: explaining… (Lies and liens and lies)!!!

Me, X1 and X2 shocked: Huh!?

Driver (Telling a big lie to show his powerful and the ease of gays): a 13 years old kid, forced me to enter inside the parking because he wanted to suck my dick!!!!!.

I don’t really understand anymore!! What happened to Amman? what happened to our society? I don’t really want to see the word “Gays” become normal and i don’t want to see those people in this city. because simply they are going to destroy everything. Their effects are spreading everyday and the word “Gay” becomes so normal.

I don’t think that the democracy allows this especially in an Arab and Islamic country as Jordan! Just a small question.. how could we accept what God refuses?

That night was really the weirdest night ever, I swear, for a couple of hours I didn’t feel that I am still in Amman! everything was really strange and not acceptable. Today I’m wondering who should stop this phenomenon? and who is the responsible?

PLEASE STOP THIS!!!

Kahild Mhadein :”Meshan allah ya abdallah”

March 16, 2009

I don’t know what is the wrong that Mr Khalid Mhadein made to be tried and also i don’t know that the truth in jordan is not allowed even if it’s to fix problems and to make the life of citizen better.

Mr Khalid wrote and carried out  about the bad situation and the infinity faults of representatives in jordan and about the underacting of them toward the citizen who voted for them. Actually he said the truth and nothing but the truth, but it’s clear that there’s some people who doesn’t like anybody to criticizing their action even if they did a lot of mistakes, they are really want the people to only listen and to close their mouths and no for objection, no for discussion and also no for commenting. What the hell is going on?.

Is that the democracy? or if it’s the freedom of speech?. The following text is a story published in JO magazine issue 64, December 2oo8 page 16 and titled ” Free Speech” have a look:

FREE SPEECH

KING PROMISES NO JAIL FOR JOURNALIST!

JORDAN’S MEDIA WARMLY welcomed assurance made by HM King Abdullah II last month that journalists in the kingdom would no longer be jailed over their work.“ In Jordan there will be no detention of any journalists of carrying out his or her duty. Detention of journalists is prohibited. I do not see a reason for detaining a journalist because he or she wrote something. “The king said in a meeting with newspaper editors :”But citizen still have the right to resort to legal action if they feel their right had been violated by a media organization, he added: “Jordan’s Center for Defending the Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) said King Abdullah’s comments represented a “guarantee for journalists to work free from fear” and urged the government and the parliament to begin working to amend laws limiting press freedoms.

Is that what the king said? it’s unfortunately NOT and like what Mhadein said i say:” Meshan allh ya abdallah, stop them!!!!”. we’re need the change because we’re getting bad each day.!
